Worst Atlantic Hurricane Season in years

With the rising tides year over year and the aggressive rainfalls continually bashing the East Coast, the latest being just last week in Louisiana, it is disturbing to see recent news that this year too may hold the worst hurricane possibilities in years. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which forecasts that this will be the strongest hurricane season since 2012.

“NOAA says there’s a 70-percent chance we’ll see 12 to 17 named storms this year, with five to eight expected to develop into hurricanes. Out of this group, two to four are expected to become “major hurricanes,” defined as Category 3 or above.”

With the federal government engulfed in their daily political woes and storm devastation happening at a rapid unpredictable pace, homeowners are left hopeless and helpless and they await Government aid for funding and plans to prevent future devastation when the next storm “does” come.

Luckily according to NOAA, there have been five named storms so far this year, with just two —AlexandEarl— classified as hurricanes so far with the year quickly pushing to its end. However if you are in a high possible impact area have you addressed your concerns with your state and local officials. Have they provided you with a clear path and time frame for remediation efforts over the years. Are your neighbors remediating currently. In a world with so many daily struggles the environment is not always on focus until it is too late. Hopefully these storms are making our Government sanctions more aware of the future and homeowners need to find their prevention methods to limit further devastation. Elevation is only form of remediation, make sure to see your town planner to discuss all options.
