Underpinning can be done in one of two ways: one, improve the foundation system by enlarging the existing foundations or adding new foundations, and two, to improve the properties of the soil below the foundations without touching the building at all.

Underpinning Slab Foundations have great experience in lifting, elevation, jack-up, and leveling homes and structures. We own and use a 24-point 2-speed unified jack system with a zoning package. This is the largest and most optional unified machine. We also offer many other types of lifting and leveling equipment. We are licensed to rig our staff.

Our service in slab elevation: This is where you dig under the structure and place the stakes under the house. Once the house is safely placed on the new pile, raise the structure to the required height of the new flood zone. Next, set up a new home base and place the house on the new base. Finally, set up all decks, stair breaks, etc.

Why is Underpinning Necessary?

There is a variety of reasons why underpinning might need to be carried out. These are usually related to subsidence issues. Some examples of why underpinning might be necessary are:
