House Movers Near Me – Keansburg, NJ

Preparing for a House Lift

Here are a few steps homeowners need to complete when preparing for a house lift:

  1. Talk to local and town officials. Tell them what you plan on doing and find out what the requirements are to get approved to lift your home.
  2. Hire an architect to get a set of drawing plans prepared for the new foundation, stairs, utilities and all other items you need fin order to elevate it.
  3. Contact utility companies to shut off all utilities, including electric, water, sewer, gas and cable. It can take up to 4-6 weeks to get approval and permits to move forward with the project.
  4. Once your permits are secured, W.A. Building Movers or the house lifting company you are working with will meet with the homeowner or contractor to go over the prep that needs to be done prior to lifting the house. This could include: removing items from the garage, clearing landscape around the home, clearing out a crawlspace or basement, detaching the home from its foundation, removing stairs, etc.

Once these are completed, W.A. Building Movers will come on site to lift your home.
