“Hi there, Jason from W.A. Building Movers here again today we’re going to talk about crib stacks, what they are, what function they are and what function they have within our operation. Cribs are basically made up of hardwood we prefer to use a 6 inch by 8 inch by 4 foot oak block. Some other lifters may use a 5 3/4 by 5 1/2 by 4 foot block all for the similar purpose all for a similar operation just based on preference. What we do with our cribs is they are actually used for: 1. To be able to help us load materials on steel underneath the house to set up a temporary shoring structure that we’re going to use as the basis for lifting the house.
Underneath that steel system we are going to place these crib stacks basically in square foot prints and they’re going to be placed throughout the property to 1. Carry the load or carry the tonnage properly and 2. Balance out the house accordingly. Within these crib stacks we’re going to set our crib jacks and from that from that stack we’re actually going to jack steel structure the mains with the house and take it to its new elevation as need be. This is pretty much a one of the basic main operations and main uses for the cribs and you will see them in the lot of people call them jiggle blocks and that is a big part of our operation day in and day out. Thank you.”
